Report on Sanction Match 2006
by Pat Reed
The Airedale Terrier Club of Canada held a sanction match on Saturday, July 15, 2006. The match was held at the Milton Fairgrounds in conjunction with the Kilbride Kennel Club after Best in Show. The match was organized by Pat Reed. It was a very hot and humid night but despite the weather our faithful helpers came out to work.
Debbie Adkinson supervised the entry takers, Mary Floro White and Benny Benaissa. Sarah Kee organized the BBQ which included hot dogs, chips and a drink. Sarah had David Sproule helping serve the food and Bob Reed BBQing the hot dogs.
Our ring stewards Elaine Zemaitis, Debbie Klemp and Sheila Adkinson helped the judges hand out all the wonderful prizes donated by Eukanuba. We were fortunate to have Ward Bailey judging Groups 1 and 7; Joe Panaro judging Groups 2 and 3 and Pam Bruce judging Groups 4, 5 and 6.
We had an entry of 26 dogs. Our Best in Match was an Afghan, Thaon's Watermark, bred by Jay Hafford and owned by Brad Heard. Our Best Puppy in Match was a Norwich, Foxwood High Voltage, bred by Kathryn Mines and Alexandra Kress and owned by Kathryn Mines.
