Our National Specialty was hosted at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium on Sunday, May 17th, 2009. It was a bright crisp day and members from around the province gathered for the Puppy Sweepstakes which was to be judged by Club member Jan Arsenault and the Specialty, which was also judged by a Club member, Raymond Lariviere.

Jan reviewed the youngsters presented and chose “Debonaire Frankly I’m Bizzi”, a lovely young bitch bred by Debbie Klemp.

Raymond chose “Traymar’s Morgan Le Fay” for Winners Bitch and Best of Opposite and Best of Breed was won by an Open Dog, “M.J. Traymar’s Spellbound”. Best Canadian Bred was won by “CH Elessar V Hugadale”.

Old and new members joined to watch the Specialty. Marg MacLaren enjoyed the show and caught up on old acquaintances. New member Carol Dureault and her daughter showed their young bitch for their very first Specialty. John and Doris Patterson, who bred Airedales in the sixties and seventies, sat in the stands and watched their young male complete.

Following the show, members joined together at the home of Kelly Wood for a fundraising BBQ.

Members enjoyed barbecued sausages and chicken with baked potatoes and salads. Sarah Kee provided the desserts with a host of yummy squares to choose from. Everyone enjoyed themselves and appreciated Kelly’s hospitality. Thank you Kelly!
