In the position of Trophy Chair, I am responsible for making sure that all the necessary trophies and awards are in the right place at the right time.

The biggest job is at the annual National Specialty. We have thirteen large, beautiful trophies that have to get to ringside (oh, how I wish they had four legs sometimes). That means they have to be packed up, unpacked and displayed and packed up again for another year. We must make sure that all winners’ and owners’ names have their special plaques placed on each trophy. We also have the Floating Speciality Trophies – at least those trophies can all fit into one suitcase.

In addition, we have several boosters in different parts of the country. Special medallions have to be ordered in advance and with the help of each director in charge, we make sure they arrive in the right place at the right time.

Having grown up with Airedales since the age of five, my parents and I have been in the show world for approximately the last twenty years. At present, I have four Airedales at home. I show both in Canada and the United States in conformation and some obedience in the past.
